West Reading Delivery for December 19th

Dear Friends of B & H Organic Produce,

Don’t forget to eat healthy this time of year.  The holidays often induce quite a bit of stress and there is oh so much sugar to be consumed.  Eating greens and fresh produce will help to clean out the sugar and white flour from your body as well as help fight off the colds and flues floating around.

Interested in recipes for our produce?  Please visit our recipe blog http://www.bhrecipes.blogspot.com/.

Below you will find the list for what you can order this week for pick up in West Reading.  If you are interested in purchasing our products in the Morgantown area please visit Hartz Natural Foods or Wyebrook Farms.

Our meats are available year round.  We just had 3 steer return from the butcher and have a full selection of roasts and steaks as well as ground beef, hot dogs and sausages.  All of our beef is 100% grass fed.  We do not finish the beef on corn and we never use artificial hormones or antibiotics.
We have whole chickens and parts available as well.  We raise the chicken on the farm in the summer and they are free to roam.  We feed the chickens our own Certified Organic grain.  No GMO’s in our meats!

So where can you buy our produce and meat in the winter months?
·      There is a store on our farm – Hartz Natural Foods.  I highly recommend calling ahead of time to check on availability of the produce and meats.  Hartz’s is open Monday through Saturday from 9 am till 6 pm, 610-286-5268.  The best produce days are Wednesday through Friday.  211 Twin County Rd Morgantown (Twin County Rd is also RT 10.  The store is only 1.5 miles from 176 and only 16 miles from West Reading.)

So we all survived the overeating of holiday number 1.  I know I over indulged and could not get wait to get back to my routine of clean eating.

We made great progress on finishing the new greenhouse this week and cleaning out the tomatoes from the first greenhouse.  We hope to be picking out of the greenhouses in the next 2 weeks.

Interested in recipes for our produce?  Please visit our recipe blog http://www.bhrecipes.blogspot.com/ .

Where to find our produce when market ends?

Dear Friends of B & H Organic Produce,

Today was the last day of the West Reading Farmer’s Market.
So very bittersweet.  I will thoroughly miss the amazing family of customers and other vendors from the market but will love sleeping in and going to church on Sunday mornings.
We still have a few fall crops in our fields.  If the weather holds out we will still be able to harvest in the field for another couple of weeks.  Usually we harvest into December however, last year I picked out of the field in January.
We also have 2 greenhouses which we hope to be harvesting greens out of this coming January.
