Rt 10 Organic Nursery Farm Tour

This blog / email is dedicated to the Rt. 10 Organic Nursery / Farm Tour.

What is so cool about this event?
Well it began over 4 years ago when I was starting my business and found out about Sugarbush Nursery and King’s Herb Nook.  It turns out that we are 3 women who started businesses in about the same year on the same road equidistant apart.  And our businesses are very complimentary.
Living in this area for a while I thought you would have to go to Bucks County or a suburb of Philadelphia to find such cool places and ideas.  But here I was right smack in the middle of it.
So Anne-Marie, from Sugarbush, and I decided that we should have an event to let our little secret out to the surrounding public.  We would host a free tour / lecture of each of our farms and what we do.  If you visit all 3 locations you have a chance to win a gift certificate to one of the businesses.
So each year around the end of August beginning of September we host the Rt. 10 Organic Nursery and Farm Tour.
This year Sugarbush Nursery (http://www.sugarbushnursery.com/) will be speaking about Native Edible Plants in your landscapes.  King’s Herb Nook (http://agmap.psu.edu/Businesses/4084/Images/)will be giving a wild herb walk.  If you have not been to King’s then you are really missing out.  The trail around the property transports you to another land.  You will not remember you are on Rt 10.  And we, B & H (http://www.bhorganicproduce.com/), will be revealing our fertilizing secrets.  But, we are not soil scientists so we will not be able to advise you on your gardens.  We can just tell you of our experience and give you a little pre – K education on soil chemistry.
Tickets for the event are free and can be picked up at any location.  You will need tickets to receive discounts.  If you have your ticket stamped at all 3 locations your ticket will be added to a drawing for a $25.00 gift certificate to any of our locations including Wyebrook Farm (http://wyebrookfarm.com/).  You must leave your ticket with 3 stamps at your last location.
The new addition to the tour this year is Wyebrook Farm.  Wyebrook is not located on Rt. 10 but is close by and an amazing way to end the day.  Wyebrook has a cafĂ© featuring their meats and local produce.  And Saturdays from 2 – 5 pm they offer free music in with amazing scenery.
This is an event you won’t want to miss!
