Late August Photo Blog

Betty watching over the berry harvest early in the morning from the top of my car.
Oh beautiful Swiss Chard you were so good to us this year.
Our CSA boxes come with bundles of colorful love.
My favorite beans... Dragon Beans.  They taste like an Italian pole bean but grow in a convenient bush.
A crazy dragonfly I found in the carrot patch.
Purple is my favorite color.  I love all these shades of lavender and dark purple.
This is Betty napping by our "Garden" sign.  She was here when PBS came to film the farm for a cooking show.  Betty is very photogenic.

Using the moldboard plow for deep tillage in the space where the new greenhouse is going.  This plow will move the soil back up hill.  It is amazing how fast the soil creeps downhill.  Luckily most of our fields are flat.
This picture is hard to see but in the foreground is a a praying mantis skin and in the background on the leaf is the praying mantis.  Did you know they shed their skins almost 8 times in their short lifetime?
Summer Beauty at it's finest.
